====== Littlest Plant Shop ======

You are back home. Well… no… seems not. You remember reading something at the very beginning of your Tome about… Personal Libraries? It took you a bit to unravel that passage, but you managed to understand the gist of the explanation.

This 'Personal Library' is a bit of home.

The monastic chamber laid before you is just as you left it, Brother Johannes' quarters lovingly imprinted in your mind and now summoned by whatever magicks these Libraries possess.

You let out a sigh and clutch your Tome close as you walk the perimeter of the familiar room. Satisfied, you sit on the bed facing a wall absolutely covered in scraps of scroll arranging various letters. Many of them form But a few letters do still string together words like:

“Through conviction we are strong. Through togetherness we are everlasting.”

“Sacred is the knowledge behind our walls.”

“Take heart” …And other common phrasings of your order.

But your eyes keep drifting back to a name, your name, in full. “SER SEDULIUS ERIUGENA”

It was one of the first sequences of letters Brother Johannes taught you to arrange correctly. You smile and crack open the ornate covers of your Tome.

There is a new, striking bit of text in the Tomes section: 'A Special Announcement'. Maybe you will try reading that. Maybe not… you wince as you read the its biggest, boldest statement again: YOU DIDN'T SAVE THEM.

In any case, you are more interested in reading about the Personal Libraries section. Perhaps you can get through more passages this time than the last. Plus, there is peace and quiet here. As it should be.

The main difference being that, instead of Brother Johannes, you are accompanied by Sire Plant.

You glance at the massive, reddish flower with its squat body and sparse leaves. It still smells a bit rank but it hasn't released its putrid, uh, self-defense mechanism, since you moved it out of the Refuge of the Chosen.

You think it responds to voices, though you don't dare consider it prefers yours to anyone else's.

Hm… you were going to try reading silently to yourself, but maybe Sire Plant would like to listen? You vaguely remember Brother Johannes mentioning that he hums while watering the vegetables in the monastery guardian.

It is worth a try.

So you begin to read aloud, making your way through the Personal Libraries section of your Tome. It goes smoothly at first and Sire Plant's petals bob along with the rhythm of your voice. But then, your tongue catches as you squint at the description of the Hub World. Your tongue could keep going, but your brain can't.

“Ah…um… my sincerest apologies Sire Plant, some of these words are new to me-” You begin. Then stop.

Sire Plant… is shedding leaves? But they already have so few!

As you watch the leaves land on the floor you see the veins form letters, letters not unlike the scraps Brother Johannes helped set up with you.

'Accessible', 'exhibition', 'invitation'… the words you had tried to read aloud but stumbled over.

On the leaves they are big, bold, and clear. Ready to be arranged into new words as you desire.

“Sire Plant…? Can you understand me after all…?” You begin to ask.

The flower shudders and you leap to your feet, afraid that you have offended your fellow Chosen.

Then you see that there is a new shoot of green growth emerging from the soil of Sire Plant's pot. And… the flower seems a bit larger? Or is it your imagination?

You watch carefully but nothing else happens. With a relieved sigh you sit back down, crossing your legs.

Your fingers graze the leafy letters and you pull Sire Plant closer as you try reading from your Tome again.

Perhaps, together, you and Sire Plant can conquer this task and more.
