Strong-armed into enlisting along with the rest of his fellow students, Adamo was sent to the eastern front under the banner of the Italian 9th Army. It was here that youth experienced all of the horrors of modern combat, and gained a macabre crash-course in field medicine.

Drilled by the military and academia, Adamo is organized, and almost rigid to a fault, though his decorum often hides a more friendly interior. Recently, he has become very interested in social science and the humanities.
